I have been working as a Technical Designer in Creative Assembly since January 2019 working on Hyenas, their multi-player, sci-fi, first person shooter. As a Technical Designer I work to bridge the communication between disciplines, especially programming and design. I think of designs in terms of pipeline and workflow and also build tools for other disciplines to help their workflow. A big part of my responsibilities are to implement designs in an efficient and performant way as well as keeping documentation up to date and easily readable. Due to my interest in narrative I also work closely with the Writer to review scripts, update in-game text for localisation and generally champion their narrative through the games designs and environment.
